Unicred, a cooperative financial institution, completed the construction of a solar power plant with more than 2,2 photovoltaic modules in the municipality of Caçador (SC).

The plant has a generation capacity of 1.000 kW of power, enough to supply 87% of Unicred's individual branches in Santa Catarina.

Installed on an area of three hectares, the solar plant should help to avoid the emission of more than 250 tons of CO2, the equivalent of planting 1,8 trees per year.

The project relied on the expertise of TAB Energia, responsible for the development and implementation of the plant, and cutting-edge technology provided by WEG, one of the largest companies in the segment in Brazil and the world.

Alexandre Luiz Franco, executive director of Unicred, highlights that the delivery represents a commitment by the company to the ODS (Sustainable Development Goals) of the UN (United Nations), promoting “corporate sustainability for a greener and more sustainable world,” he said.

The project used exclusively WEG supply equipment, with 2.230 660Wp Trina bifacial photovoltaic modules, complemented by four 250 kW Huawei inverters.

The execution involved significant earth movements, with 4.288 m³ of cutting and 5.653 m³ of filling. The work also had an average of 18 professionals involved daily, from the beginning, in February 2024, until its completion in August.
