ANEEL confirms reduction in energy tariffs from five distributors starting this Wednesday (26)

Electricity rates will be reduced from this Wednesday (26) in the concession areas of five distributors in the North and Northeast regions. The measure affects consumers served by Energisa Acre, Energisa Rondônia, Enel Ceará, Sulgipe and Energisa Tocantins.

For low-voltage consumers, a group that includes residences and small businesses, the largest reduction will be recorded at Energisa Rondônia, with an average drop of 10,63%.

Next in line are Enel Ceará, with a reduction of 6,65%, Energisa Acre, with 5,20%, Sulgipe, with 4,63%, and Energisa Tocantins, with 1,36%.

The reduction occurs following a decision by ANEEL (National Electric Energy Agency) and is related to the transfer of resources from the renegotiation of the UBP (Use of Public Property).

Enel Ceará, Sulgipe, and Energisa Tocantins had already undergone tariff adjustments in the first half of this year, but chose not to anticipate these adjustments in their tariff processes. With the transfer of funds, the tariffs of the three concessionaires were recalculated to incorporate the amounts.

Energisa Acre and Energisa Rondônia also did not advance the funds. In the case of these two distributors, however, the new tariff effect is related to the adjustments approved in 2025.

According to ANEELThe allocation of resources was defined with the objective of balancing tariff increases. Therefore, the greater the average effect of the previously approved adjustment, the greater the reduction applied now tends to be.

Resources were allocated to CDE.

The resources used to reduce tariffs come from the renegotiation of UBP installments and were allocated to the CDE (Energy Development Account).

The mechanism, provided for in Law No. 15.235/2025, allows the use of these funds to reduce tariffs for consumers in the regulated market located in the regions served by Sudam (Superintendency for the Development of the Amazon) and Sudene (Superintendency for the Development of the Northeast) in the years 2025 and 2026.

In a decision made on August 11, the ANEEL It determined that CCEE (Chamber of Electric Energy Commercialization) should, within ten days, transfer the necessary resources to enable the application of the reductions in the five concessions.
