A Clear announced the start of operations of its 100th solar plant in the distributed generation modality in Brazil, reaching the mark of more than 800 thousand panels installed. Combining this progress with contracts in the Free Energy Market, the company already meets 75% of its electricity consumption with renewable sources.

As Claro's photovoltaic plants are distributed across several states, including Bahia, Goiás, Maranhão, Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul, Minas Gerais, Pará, Paraná, Pernambuco, Piauí, Rio de Janeiro, Santa Catarina, São Paulo and the Federal District. In addition, the company plans to open another 20 projects in other federative units in the coming years.

Claro has already achieved its target of reducing carbon emissions in Brazil, without the need to resort to carbon credits. The company continues to work on decarbonizing its mobile network in 20 states, thus far avoiding the emission of 400 thousand tons of carbon.

According to Hamilton Silva, Claro's infrastructure director, the company is focused on becoming self-sufficient in clean energy, contributing to the preservation of natural resources and the reduction of pollutant emissions into the atmosphere.
