The Government of Paraná signed a letter of intent this week with... UNE (Universidad Nacional del Este), manager of PTI-PY (Itaipu Paraguay Technology Park)to create a Binational Innovation Hub. Clean energy generation is among the main strategic pillars of the initiative.

In announcing the agreement, the Secretary of Innovation and Artificial Intelligence, Alex Canziani, stated that the measure represents "a concrete step towards transforming our border into an environment of technological development and real solutions for the population."

The project foresees the use of regional assets, such as the hydroelectric structure of Itaipu and the potential for green hydrogen production, integrating universities, local governments, and research centers in Brazil and Paraguay.

According to the rector of UNE, José Sanchez, the cooperation expands scientific and technological exchange. He stated, "The partnership gives us access to advanced technologies and strengthens the exchange of research and projects that will generate benefits for the Alto Paraná region."

In addition to renewable energy, the Hub will operate in areas such as artificial intelligence, strategic logistics, and smart cities. The creation of a School of Methods for technical training in innovation and the development of public solutions is also planned.
