Teams from the Antônio Lemos Integrated River Base, in Breves, in the Marajó Archipelago (PA), seized solar energy equipment that was being transported clandestinely on a vessel.
The operation resulted in the arrest of two men suspected of involvement in the theft of the products. The operation was triggered after a tip-off that the technology was being stolen in the Rio do Macaco region of Breves, Pará.
Security teams mounted an operation to locate the suspects and intercept the cargo. During the inspection, agents found solar panels and other equipment complete with the installation of a photovoltaic system inside the vessel. The material had been stolen and was being transported without documentation.
According to Secretariat of Public Security and Social Defense, the team's swift action was crucial in recovering the equipment and arresting the suspects. The two men were taken to the Civil Police unit, where they remain at the disposal of the courts.
