The city of Foz do Iguaçu (PR) will host, between April 14th and 16th, the 8th Southern Brazilian Biogas and Biomethane Forum, an event that brings together specialists, companies, researchers and representatives of the energy sector to discuss advances and opportunities in the biogas chain in Brazil.
The meeting will be held at the Bourbon Thermas Eco Resort Cataratas do Iguaçu and will feature a program focused on technological development, innovation, and business in the sector.
The agenda includes thematic panels, a Business Space, technical visits, and the Best of Biogas awards, in addition to the Biogas Startup Moment, an initiative focused on presenting innovative solutions for the production chain.
Space for innovation
During the Startup Moment, innovative companies and projects will have the opportunity to present solutions related to different stages of the biogas chain, such as logistics and substrate pretreatment, anaerobic digestion, biogas processing and use, as well as digestate management.
Applications for startups interested in participating in the initiative remain open until March 6th. Proposals will be evaluated by a technical committee based on criteria such as impact on the sector, business model, and quality of the presentation.
The results of the selection process will be announced by March 20th on the event's official website.
Event organization
The Southern Brazilian Biogas and Biomethane Forum is organized by representative institutions of the sector in the three states of the Southern region: CIBiogás (International Center for Renewable Energies), Embrapa Swine and Poultry, and UCS (University of Caxias do Sul).
The event is organized by Sbera (Brazilian Society of Experts in Waste from Agricultural and Agro-industrial Production). Its objective is to promote the exchange of knowledge, encourage innovation, and strengthen the development of the biogas and biomethane market in the country.
