A survey conducted by Solfácil, a platform specializing in solar energy solutions, identified the ten Brazilian states with the most competitive residential photovoltaic systems in the country. The analysis considered data collected between April and June 2025.

The Central-West region continues to lead with the lowest average installation cost: R$2,40 per watt-peak (Wp), a unit that represents the value per installed power. The Northeast region is close behind, with an average of R$2,45/Wp.

Subsequently, the South recorded an average price of R$2,50/Wp, while the Southeast saw a slight increase of 1% in the quarter, reaching R$2,52/Wp.

The North continues to be the region with the highest costs for residential projects, with an average of R$2,68/Wp – a value influenced mainly by prices in the state of Pará.

Overall, the average cost of residential solar energy in Brazil fell 3% in the second quarter of 2025. According to Solfácil, the reduction is a result of the efforts of integrators, who compressed their profit margins to absorb the increase in equipment costs, caused by the new export tax applied by China on photovoltaic modules.

On the other hand, the drop in the price of polysilicon, the main raw material for solar panels, helped to alleviate cost pressure and contributed to a reduction in the final value of the systems.

For Fabio Carrara, CEO and founder of Solfácil, prices are lower than they were a year ago. "In Brazil, photovoltaic systems are extremely affordable, with payback times of less than three years. No other market in the world offers such a quick return," he stated.

Among the 26 states and the Federal District, ten stand out for offering the lowest prices for those looking to install solar energy at home. Check out the ranking:

  1. Acre – R$ 2,24/Wp
  2. Alagoas – R$ 2,27/Wp
  3. Amazon – R$ 2,31/Wp
  4. Goiás – R$ 2,34/Wp
  5. Roraima – R$ 2,36/Wp
  6. Piaui – R$ 2,36/Wp
  7. Para– R$ 2,37/Wp
  8. Ceará– R$ 2,40/Wp
  9. Maranhao– R$ 2,42/Wp
  10. Federal District – R$ 2,43/Wp
